Are loans a cause of chrematophobia?

Chrematophobia is the fear of money or wealth. It can also be used for people that fear loans.  Even if they are offered personal loans at affordable interest rates they often hesitate to get one. If you are surprised by the term chrematophobia, this article will elucidate if such a fear is possible. During the early Christianity, people freely shared their wealth among in the congregation. Nothing was considered personal. However, after the persecution was over, Christians got back to the usual living style. However, some of the puritans wrongly connoted the verse “the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil.” 1 Tim 6:10.

Instead of “Love of money” they emphasized the word money. This is why many puritans till today live a humble and poverty stricken life. The reality is the very sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross is to mitigate the curses brought to the humankind by the Adam and Eve. Poverty is a curse and blessing brings prosperity. Although it is written that you shall not borrow but lend to nations, some of the puritans neither borrow nor lend. If you believe that prosperity is sin, then it is high time to change your attitude toward money. If a personal loan can help you restore your financial status back to normal, do not hesitate to get one. All you have to do is make sure that you don’t fall into debts anymore.
